Kaleidoscope, a 2-person Show
On May 17, 2019, emerging artists, Mackenzie Costa and Isabella Gonzalez, will open the 2-person show, Kaleidoscope. The opening reception will take place from 7 to 9:30 pm at Otium Studio Savannah, 102 e. Liberty St. – suite 101. Kaleidoscope contains work that presents the artists’ use of color, textures, and movement. The event is free to the public.
Mackenzie Costa’s work is inspired by the colors, textures, and materials that surrounded her through her travels. She focuses in the colors and make them the central part of her paintings. Her current artworks are abstractions of memories gathered along her travels in France, Hong Kong, and Savannah, Georgia.

Isabella Gonzalez’s work involves deconstructing and reconstructing portraits with different layers of fabric embroidered as an intention to mend herself. Her work relates to the acceptance of living between two extremes, physically and emotionally. Isabella Gonzalez was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, Central America. She will receive a B.F.A. in Painting and Fibers from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2019. Upon graduation, Gonzalez will travel to Tegucigalpa, Honduras to continue her work investigating the psychology of materials.
