Kira Milligan (b. 1994, United States) is receiving a B.F.A. in Painting with a minor in Drawing from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in the fall of 2016. She has exhibited and sold her work in numerous group exhibitions. In 2014, she was awarded a monetary sum for being a Prismyan Challenge Finalist.
As an American citizen who was raised in Tanzania and Kenya, Milligan pairs a western education with a visual vocabulary of the vivid East African landscape to investigate the modern environment. Her work brings to light the meeting point of the natural realm and built structures. Exploring misconceptions and idealizations surrounding the African landscape, Milligan references ongoing development and its repercussions. Currently, Milligan is featured in SCAD’s deFine Art Showcase in Alexander Hall (Savannah, GA) and is participating in another exhibition later this year.

Cassandra Benevento (b. 1994, United States) is receiving a B.F.A. in Painting with a minor in Business Management from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in the spring of 2016. She constructs small and large-scale mixed media works using organic materials such as wood and beeswax.
Benevento’s paintings are an observation and reflection of the ecological surroundings she is most attracted to – the boundaries and transitional landscape that exists where water integrates with land. Presently, she is developing an expansion project to her Fossilized Series, utilizing environmentally nurturing processes in order to better engage with these observations.
