Collective Media: An Exploration of Human Expression opens Friday, March 4th and closes Sunday, March 6th, 2016. The location is Lee O’Neil Gallery, 2217 Bull Street, Savannah, GA, 31041. Opening reception is on Friday, March 4th, 2016 from 5pm to 8pm at Lee O’Neil Gallery. The exhibition is free and open to public with refreshments.
Sun Kim, Daniela Castillo, Yoonyoung Jang, and Lindsay Luckenbach present their group exhibition, Collective Media: An Exploration of Human Expression The exhibition highlights diverse work exploring the emotional-realm of what it means to be human. Topics like communication, isolation, identity and perception are referenced within the artists work. The artists have explored the personal and universal responses to being human through large-scale portraiture and figural references, conceptual detailed design installations and abstract geometric compositions created with acrylic paint on canvas.

Sun Kim (South Korea, 1994) is receiving a BFA in painting from the Savannah college of Art and Design in June 2016. Her paintings have been the subject of a group exhibition, Collective Media: An Exploration of Human Expression at Lee O’Neil Gallery, Savannah, GA, and a solo exhibition, Third Annual Jay Shapiro Arts Legacy Foundation Art, Atlanta, GA. Daniela Castillo was born in Guatemala. She will be recieving a BFA in painting in Savannah College of art and Design (SCAD) in the spring of 2016. She has participated in several group exhibitions in Guatemala in ExpoArte 2015 and “Visiones Enlazadas” at Mú Mú Gallery and in Savannah Drawing Works 2014. She has been an art teacher assistant at Margarita Tejada Foundation for Down syndrome. She will participate in a group exhibition this winter: Collective Media: An Exploration of Human Expression at the Lee O’Neil Gallery in Savannah, GA. Yoonyoung Jang, The QR Space, 2015, Paper installation, Size variable
Yoonyoung Jang (South Korea, 1991) is receiving a BFA in painting, with minors in drawing, from the Savannah College of Art and Design in March 2016. She has participated in several exhibitions, including group exhibition, Collective Media: An Exploration of Human Expression at the Lee O’Neil Gallery, the BFA senior show at the Alexander Hall Gallery in Savannah, GA and a vernissage in Lacoste, France. She expresses her ideas on perception by using symbolic signs that have been intentionally used and suggest static meanings with diverse forms of art. Lindsay Luckenbach, Pieces, 2016, Oil on canvas, 30″x 24″
Lindsay Luckenbach was born and raised in a small town called Ojai, in Southern California. Ojai’s ample artist community paved the way in cultivating her passion for art and design. She has pursued her BFA in Painting at Savannah College of Art and Design and will be graduated by March 2016. She currently lives in Savannah, Georgia. Lindsay works in an array of materials; she explores digital media such as photography and videography and is most commonly known for her oil paintings on canvas concentrating on portraiture and figural representation of the human body. She has participated in several exhibitions, including a group exhibition, Collective Media: An Exploration of Human Expression at the Lee O’Neil Gallery in Savannah, GA and she has had her work showcased two years in a row in SCADs Alexander Hall, for SCAD’s Define Art showcase; she has also shown her work in Lacoste France, for her Fall student showcase. www.lindsayluckenbach.com
