Archive Projects is an exhibition that focuses on proposing a counterpoint to the transparent model of the archive as “recording things as we see them”. The archive aims at a familiar simultaneity, an ordered and heirarchized system that has dominated the Western intellectual tradition, with deep socio-political ramifications. But the glue of the archivist yellows, and turns to splinters under a close scrutiny of the ideological substrates that accompany it. The artist’s in Archive Project propose a new model of information and exhibits work that questions cultural institutions, our subconscious selves, commerce and colonialism.
