SCAD presents “The Spirit of Arabic Calligraphy,” an exhibition by M.F.A. painting student Duaa Mohammed Alashari. Inspired by Arabic poems and Quranic texts, Alashari creates abstract large-scale paintings featuring calligraphy and acrylic paint on canvas. In these works, she explores the connection between traditional Arabic calligraphy and cultural writings.
