As the owner of Martin Ceramics, world-renowned designer and ceramic artist Andrew Martin brings beauty into the world through his eccentric, decorated and colorful forms. Over three days, Martin will host workshops that provide a comprehensive and intimate glimpse into the conceptual, aesthetic and technical processes that he has developed over his 30-year career.
On Wednesday, April 1, Martin will share his visual presentation and lecture, “The Arc of Tableware: Design, Production and Creative Improvisation.” Both events are free and open to SCAD ID holders. Contact Mitzi Davis at 912.525.6337 for more information.
Andrew Martin received his MFA from Alfred and BFA from Kansas City Art Institute. He has shown throughout the country and taught at places from Anderson Ranch in Colorado to Penland in North Carolina. His inspirations come from Chinese, Japanese and Middle Eastern ceramics. He is the author of a definitive book on mold making for ceramic artists. He is the recipient of two NEA fellowships for artists.
